We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Leader to join our growing team. You should have strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing data engineering teams. Have a deep understanding of data engineering principles and practices, and be able to design and implement efficient and scalable data pipelines.This data architecture will become the foundation to enable you to expand your responsibilities into analytics and predictions.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead and manage a team of data engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Define and implement data engineering best practices and standards.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines that ensure data quality and reliability.
• Work with other departments to identify and prioritize data engineering requirements.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes that integrate data from various sources, and ensure the data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that can improve data engineering processes and capabilities.
• Ensure data security and compliance with data protection regulations.
• Enable the business operation (sales, CS, finance etc) and data science to build comprehensive analytics quickly and effectively.
• Identify the gaps in our data infrastructure and design and build the solutions
• Managing and leading teams to build systems and framework to process large data and real-time events

Who you are:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 10+ years of experience in distributed systems, some of which are in data engineering, data infrastructure, data lake, data warehousing (snowflake, Redshift, etc), data visualization (sisense, powerbi, looker, etc), BI, MDM, and integration with at least 5+ years in a leadership position.
• Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Deep understanding of data engineering principles and practices, including ETL, data modeling, and data warehousing.
• Experience with large scale data processing using distributed systems, including hands-on experience with Kafka/Kubernetes.
• Expertise with data formats including Parquet, Avro, Iceberg, ORC and a keen understanding of schema management and evolution techniques
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
