The Head of Installation Management is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the end-to-end execution of A/V installation projects. You will drive operational excellence by refining processes, scaling a high-performing installation management workforce, and ensuring every project meets our quality metrics. Reporting directly to the VP of Installation & Technical Project Management, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and on-the-ground execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Process Optimization
- Operational Excellence: Lead the analysis, design, and continuous refinement of installation workflows to maximize efficiency and project success.
- Performance Metrics: Drive results through data-driven initiatives, utilizing KPIs and lean methodologies to ensure accountability and cross-functional alignment.
- Long-Range Planning: Develop and execute multi-year strategies, including comprehensive staffing plans, departmental budgets, and training programs to support scalable growth.
- Global Alignment: Collaborate with international teams to standardize installation protocols, ensuring a consistent brand experience across all regions.
Project Execution & Quality Control
- Timeline Management: Oversee the development of robust project schedules to ensure 100% on-time delivery for client installations.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain and enforce industry-leading installation standards to secure the highest levels of client satisfaction and system integrity.
- Technical Oversight: Monitor active projects, providing high-level troubleshooting support and resources to field teams when complex challenges arise.
- SLA Compliance: Ensure all installations are performed in strict accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and comprehensive site instructions.
People & Resource Management
- Talent Development: Hire, mentor, and retain a "best-in-class" workforce. Conduct performance evaluations, manage disciplinary actions, and foster a culture of professional growth.
- Workforce Scheduling: Manage complex labor planning and employee scheduling to balance workload across simultaneous project phases.
- Knowledge Sharing: Champion internal training initiatives to elevate the technical proficiency of both local and global installation teams.
Reporting & Financial Impact
- Revenue Leadership: Manage the installation revenue process, directly influencing the financial health
- Data Analysis: Prepare and present sophisticated reports using Excel, Oracle, and other ERP tools. Analyze trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary liaison between internal departments and clients, providing transparent updates on project health and milestones.
Requirements
- Experience: 7–10+ years in A/V installation management or technical operations leadership.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in Oracle (or similar ERP), advanced Excel, and project management software.
- Leadership: Proven track record of managing large, diverse teams and complex field operations.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate high-level business goals into actionable field procedures.
