In Dublin, the Websites team is adding to its engineering presence to take on some of Squarespace's most foundational technical challenges. A key focus of this new team will be to deliver advanced, user-facing features to offer more flexibility, precision, and control. This will empower sophisticated web design professionals and small agencies to engage with our product in more tailored and extensible ways. Partnering with our Dublin-based Product Manager, you will help shape the platform's evolution into a high-precision tool for these power users.

The team's work directly impacts millions of users and sets the foundation for future growth at Squarespace. A recent milestone? The launch of the Component Development Kit, a game-changing tool that modernises our editor and simplifies the development of new features.

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager for Websites Applications in Dublin. This is a hybrid role working 3 days per week in our Dublin Office.

  • Distill the scope of the team and help hire a balanced group of Fullstack engineers to excel as a unit.
  • Foster career development of direct reports through regular 1:1s and direct, actionable feedback.

  • Flow fluid team process and continuous improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Nurture high performing software engineering.
  • Evolve a deep understanding of relevant systems to campaign for appropriate architectural choices.
  • Plot with Design, Product and Engineering to advocate for and implement an impactful roadmap.
  • Bond departments of Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing, Data Science and Operations.

Who We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of recent experience managing a Product Fullstack engineering team of three or more engineers.
  • 7+ years of industry experience deploying global consumer apps across large codebases with many contributors.
  • A technical manager who can lead by example, including writing and reviewing code.
  • Ability to fluently translate, document and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong technical foundations to navigate the inherent tradeoffs in product engineering decisions.
  • A manager who prioritizes an inclusive culture of psychological safety and technical rigor.
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.
