About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and service-driven Assistant Store Manager to join our boutique, powered by the Leap Platform, in Soho. This opportunity is ideal for an emerging retail leader who is passionate about developing teams, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and driving business results.

As the Store Manager's right hand, you will play a key role in leading the daily success of the boutique. You will partner closely with the Store Manager to execute business priorities, develop a high-performing team, and deliver an elevated in-store experience. When the Store Manager is not present, you will confidently lead the business, ensuring sales goals are achieved, operational standards are maintained, and the team is set up for success.

Hourly Pay Range: $25 – $28. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, competencies, and qualifications. This position is bonus eligible.

What You'll Do

Drive Business Performance

  • Partner with the Store Manager to achieve sales goals, profitability, and key business objectives.
  • Monitor daily business performance, identify opportunities, and help execute strategies that maximize results.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor, inspiring strong selling behaviors and exceptional customer engagement.

Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience

  • Foster a welcoming, personalized shopping experience that builds customer loyalty and strengthens brand affinity.
  • Coach the team to deliver thoughtful service, product expertise, and meaningful customer interactions.
  • Support customer outreach and local initiatives that encourage repeat business and long-term relationships.

Develop & Inspire the Team

  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop team members through ongoing feedback, recognition, and hands-on leadership.
  • Help build an engaged, accountable, and collaborative team culture aligned with brand values.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to support performance management, succession planning, and talent development.

Build Brand Presence

  • Represent the brand within the local community by supporting partnerships, events, and in-store activations.
  • Collaborate with neighboring Leap-powered stores and assist with market initiatives, including new store openings and business needs as required.

Lead Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily store execution, including visual merchandising, inventory management, scheduling, shipment processing, opening and closing procedures, and operational compliance.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when needed, ensuring the boutique operates efficiently while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain a customer-ready environment that reflects the brand's standards of excellence.

  • Business Growth & Sales Performance: Supports the achievement of sales goals and key performance metrics through strong commercial execution and floor leadership.
  • Customer Experience & Brand Loyalty: Delivers exceptional customer experiences that strengthen loyalty, satisfaction, and repeat business.
  • Team Engagement & Development: Develops an engaged, high-performing team through coaching, accountability, recognition, and ongoing development.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintains exceptional execution across merchandising, inventory accuracy, scheduling, operational processes, and brand standards.
  • Leadership Impact: Confidently leads the business in the Store Manager's absence while fostering a positive, high-performing store culture.

Position Requirements

  • 2–4 years of retail leadership experience in boutique, premium, specialty, or customer-focused retail environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales, develop high-performing teams, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance metrics and execute strategies that improve results.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop others through hands-on floor leadership.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance development.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience with Shopify, Endear CRM, Slack, and Google Workspace preferred.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel as needed.
  • Ability to actively lead on the sales floor, including standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
