Are you a skilled Gundrill Machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components? Do you enjoy working with advanced machining equipment, maintaining tight tolerances, and ensuring every part meets customer specifications?
At SyBridge Technologies, you'll play an important role in manufacturing precision tooling and components for industry-leading customers. As a Gundrill Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting up (where applicable), operating, and monitoring Gundrill machines while maintaining exceptional standards for quality, accuracy, and efficiency. What You'll Do
As a Gundrill Machinist, you'll play a critical role in producing high-precision tooling components by setting up, operating, and maintaining gundrilling equipment. You'll ensure every part meets exact specifications while contributing to a safe, efficient, and quality-driven manufacturing environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Set up and operate gundrilling machines to produce precision tooling components
- Read and interpret engineering CAD designs, , specifications, and work instructions
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards
- Select, install, and maintain cutting tools and tooling required for production
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to optimize performance and accuracy
- Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate tooling or equipment concerns to the appropriate team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow customer specifications, quality standards, and lean manufacturing practices
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of machining experience; gundrilling experience is preferred
- Experience setting up and operating gundrilling equipment or similar precision machining equipment
- Experience with Fanuc and Heidenhain-controlled CNC machines is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions
- Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, machine setups, and inspection techniques
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Ability to prioritize work and meet production deadlines
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to safely handle tooling, fixtures, and machined components
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, and metalworking fluids
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other safety equipment
