In this role, you'll play a critical part in the final stages of mold building by assembling, fitting, spotting, and fine-tuning precision injection molds. What You'll Do

As a Mold Maker/ Spotter, you'll play a key role in the final stages of mold building by assembling, fitting, spotting, and fine-tuning precision injection molds. Working alongside our Mold Makers, you'll ensure every mold meets exact customer specifications for quality, function, and performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assemble, disassemble, fit, and spot precision injection molds
  • Fit slides, size gibs, and ensure proper component alignment
  • Operate surface grinders and other precision finishing equipment
  • Use hand-held air grinding tools to achieve precise sealing surfaces between mating components
  • Perform precision hand finishing, including stoning parting lines and fitting master pockets
  • Operate hydraulic systems during mold spotting and testing
  • Perform minor welding repairs and modifications as required
  • Inspect mold components and identify potential fit, function, or quality concerns
  • Interpret customer standards and ensure molds meet quality and performance requirements
  • Safely operate overhead cranes to move molds and tooling throughout the facility
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with Mold Makers and Engineering to resolve tooling issues and meet production schedules


What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of mold spotting, mold assembly, or mold fitting experience
  • Strong understanding of injection mold construction and mold function, including undercuts and crash conditions
  • Experience operating surface grinders and precision hand tools
  • Experience using air grinders and performing precision hand fitting
  • Understanding of material properties and mold finishing techniques
  • Welding experience is considered an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
