Job Summary
SyBridge Technologies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented EDM Operator to support our manufacturing operations and contribute to the delivery of high-quality mold solutions. This role is ideal for an individual with strong technical expertise in programming and operating EDM machinery using 3D models within a precision-driven environment. Reporting directly to the Machine Leader, the EDM Operator plays a key role in ensuring first-time quality while maintaining strict adherence to health and safety standards. The position focuses on building molds efficiently and accurately while collaborating closely with production and engineering teams to align technical execution with project requirements. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with swing shifts that include both days and afternoons.
Key Responsibilities
- Import, manipulate, and process 3D models.
- Use tools and machinery provided; program, setup and operate the EDM machine using Cimatron or MasterCAM software.
- EDM mold components, cores, cavities and details.
- Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments/probe to ensure first time quality.
- Complete checklists and report deviations from specified tolerances.
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs using provided paper and/or electronic logs.
- Assist in the repair of machine tools and parts, as needed.
- Maintain safe operations by keeping work area clean and organized and by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain the equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions, initiating repair work orders, etc.
- Participate in required meetings and training, as requested.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Three- Five years of related experience operating EDM.
- Three- Five years’ experience programming EDM machines. (Cimatron software is preferred)
- Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required
- Ability to ensure quality standards are met
- Strong attention to detail is required
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
- Proficient in time management and communication skills
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Requires walking, and on your feet for most of the day. Lifting as required up to 50 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
- May need to climb stairs/steps periodically.
- May need to reach above shoulder heights and below the waist.
- Noise levels and temperatures may vary due to areas accessed.
- There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals.
- Protective gear such as ear plugs, masks, gloves, safety glasses, etc. may be required in specific areas or duties.
