Job Summary
SyBridge Technologies is seeking a skilled and experienced Gundrill Machinist to support precision deep-hole drilling operations within our manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a machinist with expertise in gundrilling processes, capable of producing high-quality components that meet tight tolerances and demanding specifications.
The Gundrill Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining gundrill machines to manufacture tooling, molds, and precision components. This position works closely with Engineering, Tooling, and Quality teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate gundrill machines for deep-hole drilling applications.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and fixtures for various materials.
- Monitor drilling operations to ensure dimensional accuracy, straightness, and surface finish.
- Measure and inspect completed parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust machine settings to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of gundrill equipment.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
- Adhere to health, safety, and quality standards within the machining environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and process efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of machining apprenticeship or technical certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience operating gundrill or deep-hole drilling equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
