Position Summary

The Category Manager is responsible for leading and managing the global strategy to drive sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities across SyBridge Business Units. This role operates in a matrixed environment, working collaboratively with Business Unit and Regional Supply Chain Operations management to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets.

The Category Manager serves as a supervisory leader for buyers, guiding them to ensure the effective execution of category strategies and optimizing supply chain operations. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence and align stakeholders globally to deliver value through cost savings, operational efficiencies, and supplier performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Global Category Team as a supervisor of buyers across SyBridge Business Units (matrix with Business Unit / Regional SyBridge Supply Chain Operations management to deliver the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Procures materials, parts, and related services in accordance with company and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Lead negotiations of corporate-wide supplier contracts including payment terms and Terms & Conditions
  • Leads the Category team in the in the development, approval, and execution of the Category Strategy. The Category team will include non-Supply Chain members from Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and other disciplines as required. The Commodity Strategy shall include supplier capabilities, capacities, cost structures, quality systems, corporate cultures and other elements as warranted, as well as an executable near and long-term plan to deliver a capable supply based aligned with SyBridge Technologies’ strategic needs.
  • Maintains and promotes sound relationships with suppliers and the business community through strict adherence with Code of Conduct principles.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records and registers related to purchasing activities.
  • Is available to work all hours necessary and travel as needed to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Continually keeps abreast of new material and state-of-the-art processing methods and systems associated with parts and processing.
  • Continually keeps abreast of regulations, laws and market conditions that might affect pricing and availability of materials and/or services.
  • Works closely with Operations and Project Management to assure timely delivery of quality materials and services in support of SyBridge Technologies and Customer requirements.
  • Works closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with packaging and logistics specifications.
  • Supports and coordinates Lean Manufacturing & Operational Excellence initiatives with suppliers.
  • Acquire and apply intimate knowledge of economic, business, technology and competitive trends, including tracking raw material commodity indexing and providing management forecasts and history of market trends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or equivalent training and experience).
  • Masters degree preferred
  • ASCM certification preferred
  • Five to eight years minimum experience in Procurement.
  • Demonstrated successful experience transforming a decentralized tactical supply chain organization to a value creating, centralized, category strategy focus organization.
  • Procurement experience in a diversified and/or manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
