Position Summary

The Director, Lean Transformation position is responsible for the architecture, development, and deployment of the SyBridge Business System (SBS) roadmap based on foundational lean manufacturing principles.

This Individual will lead Lean initiatives to establish standard processes and tools to achieve breakthrough performance across SyBridge’s operating sites (currently 18 locations) and play a leadership role in the successful integration of future acquisitions. The individual will serve as a business partner to the BU Presidents and Operations leaders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, assess and implement process improvement programs to support critical Business Transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and implement a framework for a SyBridge Business System (SBS), utilizing lean concepts and principles.
  • Partner with the BU Presidents and Operations leaders implement the SBS roadmap and build a culture of continuous improvement across the company.
  • Recruit a high-performance team of lean practitioners to support the BU Presidents and operational leaders.
  • Drive sustained operational improvements that impact Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through facilitation of Kaizen events and mentorship of operational teams.
  • Guide and mentor teams to continuously improve processes across all operating sites.
  • Drive targeted, sustained improvement in SQDC (safety, quality, delivery, cost) tied to KPIs and daily management (DM) by using lean tools, mentoring, and change management processes.
  • Create and lead prioritized Kaizen funnel to close KPI gaps with appropriate Visual & Daily Management and Leadership engagement.
  • Facilitate and Lead PSP (Problem Solving Process) Teams in everyday Problem Solving.
  • Install and facilitate Visual & Daily Management at Gemba across operating locations.
  • Lead the integration efforts of ongoing acquisitions; establish value creation plans working with Corporate Development and Operational leaders and rapidly deploy post-close to ensure synergies are captured.
  • Constructively challenge the status quo to drive changes needed to implement and sustain process improvements; champion the development of a continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering required; Masters degree in business, engineering, or other technical field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in leading continuous improvement activities at a regional or global level required, preferably in a leading diversified industrial with a strong lean culture. 10+ years of overall operational leadership experience desired.
  • Demonstrated success leading sustained, successful continuous improvement transformations with proven results, preferably in multi-plant manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic partnership with business leaders; proven track record of influencing without authority and driving collaboration across disciplines, multiple sites, and geographic regions.
  • Clear strategic vision and understanding of the overall business goals but exhibits a hands-on approach to execution.
  • Strong customer orientation and possesses excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Deep experience and knowledge of lean principles (Kaizan, 5S, A3, value stream mapping, etc.).
  • Able to determine and model financial impact of projects; demonstrated understanding of cost and productivity drivers and related financial implications.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working globally and cross-culturally strongly desired, including leading and influencing global teams.
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Sense of urgency; has a bias for action and able to make “tough calls” when required.
  • Ability to travel and engage at operational sites (50% expected).
