Position Summary

A hands-on processing position focused on startup and support of daily activities in molding operations including line clearance and related paperwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all production startups and mold changes.
  • Perform mold, robot and machine setups when needed.
  • Understand and support material handling as required.
  • Support and train for any necessary paperwork including process audit workbooks,
  • Regular Attendance and professionalism.
  • Create and update mold work orders to ensure repairs are properly addressed.
  • Perform and maintain all ISO procedures and train personnel accordingly.
  • Complete Mold Process Workbook to ensure all documents are complete and accurate. Work directly with Engineering and the Program Manager for updates.
  • Troubleshoot mold switches and powerpack(hydraulic) issues.
  • Install and removal of molds to and from molding machines using manual and electric hoists.
  • Interact with Quality, Tool Room and Engineering to solve day-to-day manufacturing issues.
  • Perform daily checks on molds, machines, robots and all other related equipment.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping.
  • Ability to diagnose hot runners and controller issues as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience
  • High School/Trade School Diploma
  • Enrolled in Plastics Technology degree preferred with Minimum of Scientific Molding preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Mold Technician
  • Ability to run FOT, MFAT and DC2 Processes
  • Experience with Hot runner systems and Hot Runner Controllers
  • Strong team player, self-motivated.
  • Excellent problem skills with attention to detail.
  • Computer proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

ADA Requirements:

  • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally.
  • Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.
  • Exposure to physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection.
  • Typically sits, grasps item and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
