Overview of the Role
We are seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join Arrive’s Legal Team. In this role, you will draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and provide trusted advice on complex commercial matters while driving practical, scalable solutions that balance risk with agility. Your work will span across our software and hardware product lines and functional areas, helping accelerate key business initiatives—with a dedicated focus on our rapidly expanding Transport business unit. By enabling high-impact Transport deals, sales, and partnerships in the dynamic urban mobility market, you will help protect our customers, users, assets, and values.
In this role, you will report directly to a Deputy General Counsel and partner closely with business leaders, sales, product, and other stakeholders across our fast-moving and dynamic global operations. You will also act as a key driver of legal operations, actively embracing and leveraging AI and emerging technologies to optimize workflows, streamline contract lifecycles, and elevate the speed and quality of our legal services.
Your primary geographic area of focus will be France, with responsibilities extending across Europe and the rest of the world. This role is perfect for a collaborative, forward-thinking, strategic counsel who is passionate about empowering high-growth global technology companies and shaping the future of smart mobility.
What You’ll Do
Commercial Transactions & Advisory
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial agreements supporting Arrive’s operations. This includes public and private transit partnerships, smart mobility solutions, SaaS, software licensing, hardware manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, and vendor agreements.
Partner directly with Transport business unit leaders to structure and negotiate high-value transport deals, navigating complex procurement processes and mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) contracts.
Act as a trusted legal advisor to sales and business development teams, providing pragmatic, deal-focused legal support to accelerate revenue generation and expand Arrive’s Transport footprint.
Provide strategic and day-to-day legal guidance across Arrive’s software and hardware product lines and broader commercial activities.
Identify, assess, and advise on relevant legal and commercial risks, balancing risk considerations with business objectives and supporting effective decision-making.
Strategic Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with product, commercial, sales, business development, and other cross-functional teams to support key business initiatives.
Provide clear, actionable legal advice to stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives and global business leaders.
Support complex commercial projects and strategic initiatives across France, Europe, and other global markets.
Collaborate closely with members of the global Legal team and external stakeholders as needed.
Continuous Improvement, Enablement & Tech Adoption
Proactively embrace and leverage AI and other emerging technologies to drive operational efficiency and enablement across our commercial legal workflows.
Help create, refine, and maintain internal commercial playbooks, template libraries, and guidelines to empower cross-functional business partners and accelerate deal velocity.
Develop and deliver training programs for commercial, product, and sales teams to increase legal and risk awareness and drive continuous operational improvement.
Identify opportunities to streamline contract lifecycles and improve the speed, consistency, and quality of legal services.
What You Will Bring:
A law degree from a reputable European university (e.g., Master en Droit, LLM, or equivalent).
Active legal credentials or certification in a European jurisdiction; admission to the Paris Bar / CAPA is a strong plus.
6+ years of experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions, ideally combining experience in-house at a multinational technology company with experience at a prestigious law firm.
Written and oral fluency in French and English is required; additional European or international language skills are a valuable asset.
Demonstrated experience supporting transport, urban mobility, or smart city deals, including familiarity with public procurement processes and regulatory landscapes in the transportation sector.
Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice that aligns with business objectives and supports deal-making and sales acceleration.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams globally.
Strong curiosity, competence, and willingness to embrace AI and emerging technologies to elevate the quality, speed, and efficiency of legal work in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.
Strong attention to detail, with a proven track record of effectively multitasking, managing competing priorities, and prioritizing workloads in fast-moving, scaling commercial environments.
Strong awareness of relevant legal and commercial risks, with the ability to assess their potential impact and balance risk considerations against business objectives when advising product and commercial teams.
A collaborative, flexible, and pragmatic mindset, with a willingness to work across cultures and geographies in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
We know there’s no such thing as a “perfect” candidate. We’re all a work in progress and are constantly developing new skills and capabilities. Arrive welcomes those who are passionate about learning and evolving.
